They used to call my number several times a day. Asking to be removed from their call list does not work. Cursing them out in frustration only suffices to have them pass your number around to other callers. What works is not answering the call. They eventually stop calling.

I no longer answer calls from out-of-state numbers that I do not recognize, because as others here have indicated, it's usually a call from the "Canadian Pharmacy". Might as well be the Spanish Inquisition. No message was left when this number called me today.
