Prime Credit Solutions. The number comes from a private phone and the call is made by someone that is working in your state/town to collect debt for Prime Credit Solutions
___________________________________________________________________________________
I will give these people credit. They contacted a person living in a house I used to rent. They told her that they were police investigator and that they were investigating a bad check. They asked her for her phone number which she gave. She then asked if it was in regards to her or her boyfriend, who live at the house now. They said they needed to check their spreadsheets. After "checking" they said they were looking for me and asked for my number which she did not have and therefore could not give them.
I am a lawyer and formerly was the elected Prosecutor of my county.
They then said the matter under investigation was a bad check complaint from a former client. The story they told was that I refunded a retainer after committing malpractice and that the check was bad.
I contacted a PI who I have worked with and found out that the number was from a personal residence in Buffalo NY. I have never represented anyone living in New York, city or state, due to the fact that I live in West Virginia. So I called 716-821-0327. I asked for Abdulla Ahmed, the name associated with the phone number. The person who answered said he wasn't sure who that was. I then asked for his name and the company name. He mumbled both and a when I pressed him for his name, he told me that it was Mike Reed. He then said he would look up my matter, He asked for the number that they had called. I told him I didn't know it. He then asked my middle initial and said that he had the account. To verify it he ask if 6116 were the last four digits of my SS#(which it was not). He then said that it was a mistake and he apologized. I again asked the name of the company he worked for and he told me Prime Credit Solutions. We ended the conversation. I never told him that I was a lawyer and during the conversation he was polite. I think the only reason I did not get a belligerent act from "Mike Reed" was that I called from my office phone and their called ID came up Law Office.
I agree that you should be contacting your state's Attorney General's Office, the NY AG office, and FBI. I will be doing so shortly.
I also think that you should read the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT. It not only informs you of your rights and what these types of companies can do BUT it also gives you a cause of action to sue them, which I will also be doing shortly. Sue them in you local state court and I bet that they won't show up and you will be able to get a judgement against them. While it might be hard to collect, it can give you some ammunition to return the harassment.
Again I give them credit for having the balls to slander an lawyer.
Don't be afraid of these types of companies. You have rights and can use them
