They have called my cell phone twice.  When I call it  back it says the person at extention good bye and hangs up.

Several times called by this number, and since it is our area code (208 = Idaho), we may answer - it seems to be a robo-call and since we are slow to answer, they usually hang up.  Don't know whether this is the infamous "you have won a trip to the Bahamas," or the opportunity to lower your credit card rate; but in any case, its either a scam or an info hunt to get your name, etc.  Suggest you NEVER answer or return any call that shows UNAVAILABLE on your caller ID.

I think they're probably out of the country, but spoof numbers in our area code. I'm not answering either way. I know no one in Bonner's Ferry. We are considering taking out our landline due to all the scam phone calls. I can't even use my answering machine anymore. We bought a call blocker, but it doesn't work on all the numbers. Some can get through it. It does reduce the number of calls, though.

Landlines will go out of business very soon. As more people drop service. Landline company's are the problem, they support the scammers by not fixing the problems and enabling them to harass and rip off people. The phone company's only have scammers left as customers. They are letting them do what they want by scamming people. The landline company is mad that cell phones have taken so much of the business  they can careless if your phone, those who still have landline are being scammed. Just get rid of the landline. They have lost so much money  they have no money to fix a dying system. The calls can not come into my house because I took out the service and tossed all the old phones. no landline here and what a relief and freedom.

Except what happens when they start calling the cell numbers?  Are you going to throw those out as well?  Or perhaps you are so naive that you think they won't start calling cell numbers?
