They called and said that they were from the GE alarm maintenance system. That their records showed that we have an alarm with their company for over 3 years. It doesn't appear that this number has anything to do with them. Possibly a scam.

Definitely a scam number. Calling the number back indicates that it is. Trying to swindle people.

Called today and called me "Miss Barbara."  Told me that "Our records show that you have had your home alarm system for more than three years.  Is that correct?"  I said, "Yes," and she said, "Well - I am calling from your alarm system manufacturer and you are eligible for a free upgrade.  Would you like to make an appointment?"  I said, "I'm sorry - what company is this again?"  She said, "Your alarm system manufacturer."  I said, "Really?  Who is my alarm system manufacturer?"  She said, "Don't you know?"  I said, "I forgot."  She said, "Oh - Honeywell."  I said, "Nope.  I just remembered - not Honeywell."  She said, "ADT?"  I said, "Who are you calling from again?"  She said, "Your alarm system manufacturer."  I said "Don't you know who you work for?"  She hung up on me.  Scam all the way.
