Recorded message:  "This is a Final Notice from the IRS regarding a lawsuit filed against you.  Please contact us at 206-488-7277 to clear up this matter."
Must be a new phone number they are using as I can't find this number online.

I got the same message. I called them back and a middle eastern man said I was audited and I owe $2000. He said I had to pay over the phone or I would be arrested. He also refused to send me any documentation until I payed the amount.

I've gotten this call three times today. Same message. They called at noon, three and six o'clock.

I just got one of these ridiculous calls on my cell.  I don't owe the IRS a single penny.  My taxes are filed each year by professional tax people and I just got my federal and state tax return refunds.  If the IRS was auditing/suing you, they would notify you via Certified Mail.  They would not be contacting you via phone and speaking in foreign accents with bad English. OBVIOUSLY, these are criminals trying to access your personal information - probably your SS #.  NO ONE can call and threaten you -- try to extort money from you -- over the phone.  That is a crime and you need to report them and their tel. #  to your local police, then to the FCC. These are SCAMMERS, people, and very bad ones.  Do NOT give them ANY INFO.  Do not ENGAGE with them.  Do not answer your phone when you see their number in your caller ID - they will eventually move on to someone else.

They called my wife this afternoon & left a message.  She called back & refused to pay, he threatened to send a cop to arrest her.  Some how he managed to call back around 5pm with a legit IRS 1-800-829-1040 caller ID ????
