When I told my caller I will take the paper he sends me to the police and if it is real, I will donate, he hung up. I called him right back 3 times, he never answered???? Sandy

I just received a call from your boys and when I asked him to many questions he hung up. That's sleazy. If the police want to try to have a good public image they need to change there tactics. This guy was down right rude.

How are you going to ask for money for a cause and be so rude? If I received a call from the Red Cross for donations and they acted that way they would be fired!

You ever think that maybe..just maybe..it wasn't the police calling...use your head and do some research ..its a criminal scam.

Absolute [***], you must work for their company.  I have donated to this organization for years.  I am a volunteer at our YMCA and their treasurer and I personally make calls asking for donations so I know how hard it is.  I recently discovered that THEY ARE A BUSINESS they aren't the Police or Volunteers for the POLICE, State Patrol, and even the other numbers that are representatives of the FIRE DEPARTMENT.

Being an Accountant I thought all the money I donated each year went to McGruff stop crime, prevention, school stuff, etc.  I found out that less than 3% of your donation actually makes the benefit they name off.  The only reason why the State Patrol and Firefighters even allow them to continue this is because they get a little money vs. no money at all.

I just had these folks call me again, I've told them time and time again I found out how their business is ran and to take me off their call list.  They refuse and just called at 8 PM.  I'm reporting them.

If you want to donate money to the Seattle Police Department, you can contact the Seattle Police Foundation.  THey do a lot of fundraising for the Seattle Police Department and they work closely with SPD.  McGruff is through the National Crime Prevention Council.  It has websites and crime prevention resources.  If you want to donate to them, you can contact them through their website I am sure.  Every police department in the state will have some way that you can donate money to them directly.
