Yah, I got my 4th, call in a month, just now. This time, and the last, it was about how Windows was compromised on my computer and asked me for my computer's registration number. Just to mess with him, this time, I let him go on for quite awhile. Then I said, number 1 - I don't have windows, number 2 - I asked him if all of the people that I heard in his call center were calling all the many people whose computers were compromised and number 3 - this was the 4th phone call I've gotten from them in a month. (The first 2 calls were from a middle eastern man who said that the sheriff was on his way to my house to arrest me for tax evasion.)
Then, as he was trying to speak I said, "Don't you feel bad about being a thief? Your mother didn't raise you this way. If you all put the same amount of energy trying to find a job as you do trying to rip people off you might actually be able to make a living." I said, "You should be ashamed of yourself. Really. Why is stealing the only way you can make money?"
I asked him what "computer registration number" he had of mine. He said he could give that to me but then wouldn't. Then he told me, and this is the funny part, that I was wasting his time. Wow! I told him that I've already filed a complaint against him with the FCC and the FBI (which is the truth). I told him that he's all over the internet and that anyone who looks up his number on Google sees all the people who were fraudulently called. What I think speaks to their idiosy more than anything is that, except for the first call, I keep telling them that I've reported them and that I follow additional complaints each time they call, and yet they've never taken my number out of their system. If someone told me that they've reported me for fraud you can be sure I would never call them again for risk of being caught. So if any of you out there are frightened or nervous because of these call, don't be. These people are just thieves and they don't have any real power to hurt you unless you give them personal info.
Having his or their phone number doesn't do any good. When I called back I either got the recorded THIS NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE or someone picks up on the other end but then hangs up immediately. These people are just time wasters. You can simply hang up and ignore them or you can mess with them into thinking they've caught a fish by acting like you believe them but keep asking the same questions but say them differently. Take a look at your registration number and then give the guy on the phone a completely different number, stuff like that. Just for your own amusement.
