Receive several calls per week from this phone number.  Caller ID says "UNAS".

Called this number back-it is the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund.  Pre-recorded mesage had option to speak to someone about phone call.  When dialed that extension, the mailbox stated that it was full.

Same as everyone else.  Caller ID UNAS started calling once a day, now twice, dead air when I answer.  Called the # back to also reach Breast Cancer Prevention Fund; also can't leave message with them - mailbox box is full.  If scam artist is high-jacking Breast Cancer Awareness' #, can't they do something about this?  Most of calls we receive are after business hours - is someone hacking into the line at night?

I frequently get calls from this number; caller ID shows UNAS. They do not leave messages. After reading other messages on this website, I did some checking on the internet. Could not find out what the acronym stands for, but they are a fundraising company. Apparently the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund has hired them to "cold call" for donations to help pay for mammograms for women who have no health insurance. They also may be using lists of people who have made donations for other causes. Went to website of the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund. They claim to be a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable organization. Here is part of the text of a news release on their website (no date given):

"The Breast Cancer Prevention Fund is currently conducting large-scale outreach programs in California, Texas, and Washington. You may receive a telephone call from the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund requesting support to help pay for mammograms for uninsured women. Everyone who makes a contribution to the Breast Cancer Prevention Fund will receive a letter in the mail, along with a return envelope.
Thank you for helping us save lives."

Something else I found out is that these calls MAY be computer-generated calls, where the computer is calling a pre-programmed list of numbers. All the computer is doing is tracking what time of day a live person answers the phone and says, "Hello?" At some later time, a fundraiser employee may call your number at the time the computer shows it got a live person to answer. Then you will be asked to donate to help pay for a mammogram.

So, try not to be too upset or worried that someone is stalking you. Just hang on to your checkbook.
