Download the "Disconnect Ring Tone" and play it whenever you get a call such as this.  Note there is a pause between your picking up your phone before someone answers.  This is the computer determining whether it has reached a valid number.  If you play the disconnect tone, the computer automatically removes you from their calling directory.

It's possible that someone else who used to have your cell number gave that number out, and now it's still in someone's database.  Since all these things are automated, it wouldn't surprise me that no one deleted it, and now it's being used to harass you.

They get the numbers ftom do not call lists, get creative and forward the calls to government offices. let them deal with it !

Ya.  Killin me how MUCH i fall for the legit seeming #---- to landline housephn.  that rarely rings as it is.  same deal with answer/dont answer- same nobody there situation,  I hate it since just as of the last 5 days we have a group of family-ish friends all with cell phones and guess where they are from?     YES!!!   Washington state :o)      Im a sucker i answer in good faith rarely dwelling on the annoyance factor before I answer======thanx for the vent opp.
