Live call from "Zap Energy," (a company I cannot locate on the internet). The caller claims to be "a partner" of Commonwealth Edison (local electricity distributor)(and big-assed power conglomerate). His records show I am paying the "state maximum for electricity." A "technician" will be in the area tomorrow to look over my electricity bills and tell me how much I could save by switching Zap. I politely told him I was not interested and politely asked to be removed from the calling list. While he did not argue with me, he continued his pitch. I said, I am not interested. He kept at it. In all politeness I suggested he not spend more time with me and find someone else interested so he could make some money. He said he wasn't making  money, only wanting to educate me. And so it ended with mutual goodbyes. Of course, if he knew what I was paying, there would not need to "look over the bills." If he did not had have access to my bills (very likely), he was not a "partner" with ComEd

I guess I am the kind of person who is not interested in letting uninvited strangers into my home. Further, deregulation of the retail residential electricity utility business is likely to screw any residential customer with higher costs. It is also a cynical business because the generation arm of the local electric company sells its electricity to these competitors, who then "resell" at a higher mark-up than the original charges to its embedded customers. Cute.. There is something really goofy about all this.
That's my story.

I had a call from Michael who was also with "Zap Energy" who was partners with PSE&G who told me I was paying the maximum for my electric and I could choose a supplier and save money. I asked him adding a third party to my bill would save me money since this third company would also need to make money and he said he would give me $1000 if he did not save me money. He also said he didnt need me to make money he gets paid even if I hang up on him, he just doesnt to see me pay more than I already do! This is my business electric we are talking about. So they are targeting both residential and commercial as well. I told him that I was going to look into this and cll him back. I also can not find anything to support his claims online nor can I find this company! I did call the number back and got a recording saying your call is important please stay on the line, then it hung up!
BE WARNED, they are not going to save you money, they are going to rip you off!
