Amanda, this is a scam!! He has stolen your information - if you ever applaied or even inquired about a loan online that is probably how he got it. He will threaten you with fraud, deception and other things, he will probably say you are about to be arrested - none of this is true - do not let him scare you. Although he left a cxall bacj number I bet is showed up as "restricted" or "unavalable" on your caller id. You said he had a heavy accent - was it middle eastern? This scam has benn going on for years. He will also threaten to call you work or friends if you used them as references - and he may just to try to bully you. These people are scam artists who have set up call centers and they use some kind of softwarw to "spoof" numbers. When you ask him for details he will probably be vague and will become very rude with you, sayhing he is not "customer service" Remeber he cannot do any of the things he is threatening to do! They are scumbag thieves! I applied for an online loan a while back - which I nbever took because the terms were so harsh and a few months later I started getting these phone calls. What suck is they constantly change numvbers and names they use and the calls stop for a month or two and then start all over again. If you scroll through this or similar webistes you will see countless stories just like yours - under different numbers and names. Also check out posts by "lamet" and "this just in" on this website - it will give you the full rundown on this scam. Reprot the phone call you got to www.ic3.gov. Put a fraud watch on all your accounts and contact you bank - you may want to close your current accounts and open new ones. Good luck, and remember they are scamming you - you have done nothing wrong!
