Got a call from 206-451-5297. Any idea who it is?

They called me saying they were from the National treasury department and I won a grant for 9000. But I had to buy 250 dollars in iTunes cards.

Scam! First, why would the government want iTunes gift cards? Second, you don't "win" a grant, you have to apply for it. Third, even if you do get approved for a grant, you don't have to pay to receive it.

The phone number was an 800 number, the woman had a hard to understand accent and when I told her I was skeptical but that she could continue to tell me her speech she told me my definition of skeptical was wrong.   She told me I got 9000 from the government for being a good citizen and to call 206-451-5297 to get all the details.  Luckily I was smart enough to search the number before calling

scam, scam, scam, was advised by the caller that I had won a grant only thing I had to do is give them 300 dollars and my bank account number, they must think I just fell off the turnip truck
