Left a message claiming to be an IRS agent and stating he was going to have me arrested for an outstanding tax issue. Blocked my number to call him back and mess with him, but it goes to voice mail right away. Darn.

BTW, the IRS would mail a letter to your home if there was a problem. These guys doing these scams are horrible people. Ohhhh, and heavy indian accent.

Is it really a scam cause I just got the same call and it kind of freaked me out a bit

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I got the same message as Mike above. Tried to call it back but the call would not connect.

I received a call from the above number saying I owe the I R S.  Indian sounding voice!,  I am on the do not call list!
