Simple. Callers are located in India and Pakistan. There's nothing the US can do, and local governments won't do anything.

Just received call from this number 206-397-1785 on my cell phone rather than my land line. It was a cryptic, robotic voice tone, warning me that I had a situation with the IRS. It warned me "...do not try to disregard this message..." Instantly suspected a scam. I'm reporting this number to my cell phone carrier.

I got the same message left on my phone today. It's a SPAMMED or phishing Not calling it back.

Final notice, even though I never got any other notices from "IRS" "This message is intended for you. There are legal charges press against your name. And your state identity is under federal investigation. For further information please give us call back on (stated #). Do not try to disregard this message and do return the call as soon as possible before any legal allegations take place. Thank you, have great day." Verbatim Per the automated voice message.
