The caller(s) indicated that they were with Federal Government Grant Office.  They caller instructed me to fill out a money receiving form, and a green dot money pack card.  Load the card with $180.00, and this was the processing fee.  Then they would wire Grant to Kroger, along with the Processing Fee.  

My 79 year old dad received a call from someone claiming to be from IRS.  He was told that he would receive a refund from IRS for $900 and something. All my dad had to do was call the number and give a reference number AG860.  Even though,  I told him that the IRS don't randomly call people regarding money. That when IRS want to reach you they have a 1-800 number for you to call and or they will write you regarding the problem.  My dad was hooked, he insisted to that I call this number and get the information from this person (because I'm his POA).  So I had my husband call the number, with the caller on speaker and he was told that his refund was for $9,000 (my father is hard of hearing). My husband was told that he needed to go to Walmart, Walgreen, or CVS and get a Green Dot card.  When my husband asked how much the card would cost, he was told to hold the line and no one came back to the phone.

You are correct - this is a complete scam.  Why would your father have to PAY money to get a refund?  The IRS would also mail him if this was the case.  Please do report these scammers to the REAL IRS at www.irs.gov.

Called me from caller id name: Pay phone. Told me that the IRS is suing me and I need to call this number for details. Sounds like a scam for sure.

That is what I was told as well.  the original number they called from was Chicago 312-263-8267.  Message told me to call the new number which I will not, about the IRS lawsuit against me.  Oh yes, and they did not leave a name on the ansering machine of who they were trying to reach that was being sued.  Don't call 206-201-2593
