I just got a call from 509-331-5555 stating that I was approved for $9000 from the govt that I don't have to pay back. Lol I entertained her, got all the info, & I didn't even call that # she gave me. I googled the finance dept. phone # 206-201-2185 & ended up here. I hope there are no desperate people out there that actually go through with this & lose their $. TGFC

This is such a scam.....    Please if anyone gets a call from these guys, hang up. Do not believe for one second you would get a call from the "Government" (and sound like you are in India), and they are just going to give you money for nothing.  As Joshua noted in his post.   This is supposed to be part of the 1991 stimulus plan.  You are not supposed to have to pay the money back, but you are required to register and in order to do this you have to pre-load $259.00 on a card, for verification and tax purposes.  Then they will give you the verification number so you can pick up your money from Western Union.  
In other words - they need you to put money on a prepaid card (which they will ask you for the number on it) so they can drain the card of your $259.00 and you will get nothing.....
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - DO NOT FALL INTO THIS SCAM.....

Had this call today myself, thought it was actually kind of funny but maybe just a tad bit disturbing, they had a lot of information about me and my family, even if they were pretty transparant.  First clue, unavailable number, man with a foreign accent.. Oh yes, this is a scam.   Second clue, "treasury department" is just randomly selecting upstanding citizens? lmao.. since when?  U.S Grants aren't just awarded randomly, you have to apply for the grant.  So I kept him on the phone, and started quietly doing research on the number..  I never even bothered calling the number they wanted me to, no point, I knew right away they were full of crap. lol.

i just receive a phone call from a guy saying the same things and it sounds a really fruad call the number2062012185 to redeem the grant. phone # that called me was7675033782 a guy from india talking and gave same number and that they gave the grants to 1500 people who paid theyre taxes on time bla bla bla....

Called from unknown number. Obviously it's a scam when the person claims they are working for the US treasury department and doesnt speak a lick of English. Dumbest scam artist next to the African inherence scam. I called the number the rep gave me and bitched them out like you wouldn't believe. Ofcourse I had to learn a couple bad Indian words like fagget, peace of [***] and a word equivalent to n*gg*r, you get my drift. Thank God they are in a third world country like India and population control will swollows them up and half there Continent sinks into the ocean. Must be the stinky [***] food they eat that make them so goddam dumb.
