This number calls me periodically, but I have no idea who it is. Whenever I answer they immediately hang up and when I try to call back it says it's an invalid number. I know it's a landline in the Birmingham, AL area, but I have no idea who it belongs to.

This number showed up on my missed call list but they did not leave a message. When I tried calling the number back it said restricted.

This is most likely a UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) number. Most of their number start with 975. It's a large campus with a large medical center, so it could have come from many different places.

The number came up on the caller I.D. as University of Alabama at 8:34pm. The young lady gave her name and said she was a junior at UAB calling to update the alumni records. First she checked to see if I was living at the same address, and after she gave me my old address, I told her it wasn't a good time. She politely said she'd call back at another time, and we hung up.
