The phone number comes from either The University of Alabama or The University of Alabama at Birmingham.  I think it's the alumni association and they want me to make a contribution.

I received a missed call from this number, but when I tried to return it I got a message that said it was not a working number. The 975 prefix usually belongs to the UAB hospital.

Normally don't pick up unknown #s, but the 975 is a generic UAB exchange and I have friends/family that work there that often can't use their cells from work so I picked up. Claimed to be from College of Arts & Sciences wanting to "update information on file."

It is from UAB from the College of Arts and Sciences.  It was someone wanting to update information on file.  It isn't something nefarious; it was only someone from the BEAT study, which is a study of breast cancer survivors and exercise.  It is located in the Webb building on the campus of UAB.
