This is a fraudulent call.  Don't answer, don't engage them, dont confirm your identity or anything.

Before I realized they were fraudulent, I actually spoke to them.  They claimed I have a payday loan from a number of years back (never did) and read me the last four numbers of my social.   They would not give me any information about their company despite repeated attempts to get their company name and address.  Claimed they were going to be serving me with papers from the county and suggested that I "Get a good lawyer".

They would appear to have access to debt collection tools, as they are calling and harassing my family members in an attempt to embarrass me into paying this UNOWED debt.

I have filed a complaint with the AG and with the CFPB but the response I got was "Thank you for contacting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. We reviewed your complaint and couldn’t send it to the company for a response. This could be because the company is not yet registered to respond to complaints or because we do not currently handle complaints related to this matter."

I am going to do a little catfish hunting on my own to see if I can ascertain who owns the number, and then maybe sue the [***] for harassment.

Received this call today, same scenario, would not give me any details, said they were a mediator.  Blocked them.

I received a text message today from number 706-341-3398. The text states (my first and last name), your payment placed on file has not cleared. Please contact our office immediately to speak with account services at 203-813-5007, your account number is 5456. Thank you. NO clue who this is, sounds shady considering they are sending me a "text message". I've read the previous posts. I don't respond to bogus debt collectors/scam artists.

I also received a text message from the  number 1-765-570-4210 saying my full name  has your payment placed on file has not cleared. Please contact our office immediately to speak with account services at 203-813-5007, your account number is 20544. I called the number back and it says you are caller # 7 in cue please wait. Yes definitely doesn't  sound right so I hung up.
