Caller not on my block list. Called 5/7 at 9:00 AM. Claimed to be a chimney cleaner. I asked him why he called us when we are on the DNC list. He said he knew about DNC but since the computer did the dialing he couldn't do anything about it. CID said "Unknown Name" and number is "Not in Service" when I called back. I told him he was isolating federal law and he hung up.

These people have been making these phone calls for years and years, always using some different false caller ID number.  A long time ago I once got into an argument with them -- they claimed they were not violating the Do Not Call list because they previously had cleaned my chimney, or cleaned my furnace, or something like that, and therefore had a "previous relationship" with me, and therefore this new call did not violate the law.  It was a complete lie -- they had never done any such thing for me.  There is no point trying to talk to such people.  The best strategy is just not to answer the phone.  Thank you, Annoyed in CT, for writing in to let others know what this particular call was about.

Called 1:38pm, May 9, 2016.  Only the phone number was shown on Caller ID.  I was out but would not have answered the unrecognized call anyway.

I also received a call from this number.  Left no message and I did not answer it.  These calls are so annoying.  I am also on the DNC list.
