I got a text from this number with a link to apply for a scholarship with no essay required. I am currenty looking to enroll in college. I did not click on the link in the text, but instead typed out the link in my computer's browser to see where it lead. It took me to a page where I could put in my information regarding what course of study I was interested in, what level of education I have attained, etc. I did not fill out anything. Recently, I have been getting calls on my cell phone from this area code, which I do not answer because I do not know anyone in DC personally that would call me on my cell phone. After plugging in some of the numbers I receive calls from in 800Notes from this 202 area code, I see that it is a goverment grant scam that these callers are trying to pull. I think these scammers may have gotten my number from the online job boards or third parties when you sign up for newsletters online regarding furthering your education. What a shame that these characters think that it is better to put all this energy into being dishonest to fleece the next person rather than earning their money the honest way.
