We got a call from this number listed as "Washington DC" We played along with them. Because we are a computer IT company, we knew this was bogus. We recorded the whole conversation and plan to post it on our Facebook page to warn others. He has a very thick Indian accent, very hard to understand. But told us we had infections on our computer. The company he said he was calling from Sofort Technologies (or maybe Soford). I looked it up on line to see if I could see if the company existed and I couldn't find anything. If you get a call from someone telling you you have a virus or infection on your computer, do NOT panic. Do NOT continue with them. Write down any information they may tell you, get a name, a contact number, etc. and report them on a site like this to let others know of the scam. They can not detect if you are infected from a remote location unless they have had some sort of access to your computer. You can call your IT person to verify any infections with an easy to use spyware software. There are free ones you can download. Please don't fall for these calls and definitely give them NO information about you or your computer.
