This is a scam. They tell you that they are giving a government grant (mine was for $8600) and give you this phone number to call and a grant confirmation number to give to the "Supervisor". I called the number, listened to their spiel, and then when they said I had to pay a $260 plus fee for taxes, I told them I was not interested.

I called a couple times. Last time i talked to a 21 yr old girl from thailand. She told me they ask for money but never send any back. I told her i was with fbi. Lol. She opened up and explained the scam. Do not send any money. They say they are in dc but caller id says ontario

SCAM: Caller named Serena from Washington DC Says I received Government Grant Free Money &
Gives this number: 202 738-4596
& a code so that you can receive money direct
by Western Union in the amount of $8500.00.
* I knew it was a scam so I could acquire
the complete setup of this scam.
Beware! Called from an unknown number.
Put these guys in the JAIL!!!

They called and said they were from the Federal Government and calling about my $8500.00 grant. I checked the number and noticed the complaints. I didn't go any further. Other than making this note. The caller said his name was Thomas Martin which sounds American. However, the caller had a middle eastern heavy accent.
