So the Do Not Call List works only for the law abiders and is no help with the criminals.  A lot like gun control laws, i.e, has no positive effect on the real problems.  Don't spend time defending the absurd and ridiculous.  People will think you actually look like your avatar.

Most of the unwanted calls I receive are from politicians wanting money, and they certainly qualify as "criminals, spammers and scammers". How sad that they are in charge.

Called the number back; it's the Republican National Committee. Non-profits are excluded from from the DNC list, but they are required to stop calling you upon request.

The caller said she had a "one question survey" that would take one minute. She did not ask if I wanted to participate but forged ahead with the "survey." It was a political recording followed by the same live operator asking if I would donate $100 or $150 to her (unnamed) organization. This whole thing smells like a major scam. Beware.

Got a call from 202-735-3879!  Caller ID said "Washington DC."  No connection to DC in thus household!  No message left!  Don't these scammers know we have caller ID and we don't answer such calls?
