It was yet another call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from Windows Technical Support and telling me that they were receiving reports that my computer was infected with malware.

"Hello, this is Joe from Windows 7 Technical Support, we are calling regarding an issue about your computer."

Me:  What's Windows 7?   If I had it, you would know by now I upgraded to Windows 10 when it became available and I'm an IT Security Analyst for the FBI (gotta have a little fun)

I guess you could also say, "Really?  I'm a Lion/Yosemite/Current Mac OS name"  but I'm sure when they heard FBI that was enough.  LOL

Don't know who this is but don't pick up the telephone check with the BBB and FTC

After purchasing a brand new computer, it was hit with a virus claiming to be the Microsoft team. Directions were to call the number listed, however, the answering party sounded like they were in a call center in India and wanted remote access to my computer. Did not provide that information and returned the computer and was allowed to exchange for a new computer. (Didn't trust a virus sweep on the former computer.)

A person sounding like they were calling from India just called claiming to be a Microsoft Help Desk Department, approx. 3 weeks after the initial call placed to them.

Immediately hung up the phone.

DON'T CALL THEM. THEY WILL KEEP YOUR NUMBER ON RECORD. THIS IS A SCAM!
