I received suspicious call from an unknown number. The caller had a thick foreign accent and claimed to be from the United States Department of Grants. Haha. According to the caller I had won a grant from uncle sam that I had never applied for and they wanted to send me a little over $7k. After telling me about all the options for sending the money by either giving them bank account numbers or credit card info I told them I would love the money but was not willing to divulge that information to someone who had called me. No problem they said, call Allison at (202) 697-9228. This sounds like a scam, other people have said that once you call back they want you to wire them money through Western Union to receive your portion of the "Grant". Don't do it.
