Wethersfield, CT Police Department - A local resident received a blocked call on 8/8/11, in which the caller asked her to send $190.00 via Western Union to receive her $16,000 tax refund.  She was instructed to call 202-657-5469 from the Western Union office, to get instructions on where to send the money.  She did not send any money.  The number belongs to a cell phone in the Washington, D.C. area.

I just now got a call from that same number and this person asked me to send them 400.00 dollars via western union and to call him back and give him the 10 digit confirm code so i just wanted to give you a heads up ok. The guys name, he gave me, is william edwards so just to let you know ok. Oh and he says he is calling from the U.S. Govt.

I have also just received a call from 'William Edwards' and he wanted $500 from me for the ten digit code at Western Union.  I hung up on him but he was calling from the # (989) 711-2412 again saying he was with the U.S. Government.  He gave the same (202) # to reach him back on so I am grateful that this was posted.

I got a call from this number just now asking me to deposit $499...ofcourse the same stuff about western union and the govt!!!

These callers are awlful. Never gave them much of a chance today anything. They did not speak English.
