NOT the IRS - they send letters, not threatening phone calls.  Report the call and number  to  www.irs.gov.  It may help someone else.

Received the same phone call just now. They left a message saying they are with the IRS. Same name was given. I called back and it says its with the IRS and when I gave them my name they said they are looking for someone else. People who answered the phone have very heavy accents. Not sure it is legit.

It isn't. The IRS will never contact you by phone. Only in person or by mail.

I got a call from them yesterday and they said it was an important legal matter, that I could have my legal council return the call. YEAH RIGHT, SCAM. I'm going to call back and screw with them. Harassing me, I will teach them a lesson. the number was the 202-650-5454 and Shaun White was the guys name. Crooks is what they should be called
