I am getting calls several times a week from the above number with a recording saying they are the IRS.  The message is stating they need more information about a case file but don't state what the file number is and that I need to call them back.

It's a scam. They want you to go to target, get a $$ card and send it to them to make your "criminal " case go away.  I got the call yesterday on my cell. I like to mess w/these people. I went along to where the guy told me to take my debit card, ID, and get in my car. Said he would stay on phone till I got to Target.  I then reminded him IRS doesn't call you. And I shared a few expletives with him.

Yes, I also got the call. Automated message says, IRS Is going to sue me and a file a law suite against me

I also received a call from this number with a recording saying exactly the same thins, IRS has a lawsuit against me etc. I will block this number now. The Capt is correct, the IRS will send you snail mail, then other legal paths, not a phone call asking you to call back. thanks for posting this.
