I received this call earlier today, and after doing research, I very highly suspect this being a scam call. Beware! All the IRS' OFFICIAL phone numbers can be found at IRS.gov

There is a fairly common IRS or "tax scam" being practiced by scammers in both Canada and the USA.
USA tax payers should read this:

I got same call as well about 3 hours ago. Just now listened to message and typed in phone number in google. bingo. here i come to this site. sure enough it was scam.

Got a computer sounding message from a person named David Meyers from the IRS. Said I should call back or I would be sorry. I called the 202-629-0972 number back and the message said IRS. I left a message but it sounded fake. I know that the IRS would send a doc in the mail if there was a problem. I shouldn't have called back.. I plan to ignore after reading this blog. Thank you all for posting.

I also just listened to a voicemail from a supposed Officer David Myers. Obviously a scam-don't call back!!
