I received a call from 202-545-4587 today, and was informed that I was eligible to receive a $9,000 government grant that I could use to buy a car, pay bills, or start a business with and would not have to pay this money back. The guy was heavily accented gave me a confirmation number after I informed him my name and wanted me to call 1-202-681-6351 in order to receive my grant When I called 1-202-681-6351, this guy was heavily accented too and informed me that I could receive the grant money in the form of a Walmart mastercard, by western union or in the form of a moneygram - I could choose which form I wanted to receive it in. When I said western union, he said I would have to purchase an ITunes card once I got to the western union. I did not disclose any personal information to either one of them, just my name. This whole experience made me feel suspicious, so I said I did not feel right about this, to just forget our conversation and that I was not interested in a government grant they were offering to tell me about. He got rude with me over the phone and said "get off the phone, that I was just wasting his time." Needless to say, they both wasted my time and I would not advise anyone to believe them. Obviously, there is something in it for both of them, because I received a total of 5 calls on my home phone number this afternoon from 1-202-545-4587 saying this was from Health and Human services.
