I was told that they were planning a lawsuit against me for gaining more information about a situation that I was involved with.  The women had a accent and used poor grammar and said that it was urgent matter to return the phone call. This was received by my voice mail.  It didn't say the name of the firm or whom it was that was calling,  just the threat.

I received a call from this number that said that the IRS is going to file a lawsuit against me and that this was my final notice.

They did not provide a number that the IRS lists on their website.

The machine was speaking and said this is a call from IRS. They ask me to call back but I wasn't able to.

The thing that struck me as *off* was the use of Internal Revenue Services. Services is not a part of the real name of the IRS.
