I was called too that day wow, what a scam.

I got the message on my machine from this number. I called back and some clown said he was with the IRS. As I started to ask a question, he hung up. I called back and it was the same guy attempting a different accent. I duplicated his feeble attempt at a Latin accent and actually had a conversation with him. I told him if he is going to run a scam, he needs to do a better job. We bantered back and forth for a few minutes and then I thanked him for being on the phone long enough for me to run a trace. I told him to keep looking over his shoulder and that I would be seeing him soon. He hung up.

Total scam!  The Indian accent is a dead giveaway.  Plus, the IRS will never call you about anything - they communicate through the U.S. Mail.

Offshore scammers have no problem impersonating IRS agents because they know their chances of being caught and prosecuted are slim to none.  The FBI can only operate domestically.  It's up to Indian law enforcement to crack down on these clowns, and they don't seem too terribly interested in doing so.

Some woman called saying she was with the IRS and to avoid further action call them back at 202 241-8704.  Thought this sounded strange so did not call them back.  

This tool has called my home twice the last two days. I called back from a blocked line and spoke with him. I just played a game with him until he caught on and started yelling obsinities at me! So now I've decided to call this tool at least once a day and tell him he is number 1 in my book! Hahaha
