The number is a legit IRS number. That's what shows up when they call.

Today, 7/9/14, I received a recorded message from a person named Shawn White saying he was from the IRS.  I returned the call and had to  leave a message.  He did call back sometime this afternoon with a very threatening message indicating that I was in trouble if I didn't return his call and all he could say was good luck.  He indicated his badge number was 16380.  I am not going to respond anymore.  If there is an IRS problem I expect a written response.

Received exactly the same message. I just ignored it.
