My brotherinlaw received this call - he's disabled and the caller said he is being awarded a grant of $10,000 if he sends $100.  This is the phone # he was given.  It's a recording identifying itself as the Federal Grant department.  What baloney.

Someone by the name of alfred called me saying tha she was from a federal grant department. . Asking me for my bank account information saying that I was selected from the goverment and that I have a 10, 000  credit from the government. .. please somebody do something about this...

I got a phone call from a lady with a accent named Rachel, stating I was picked for a 10,000 grant, 202-241-4751 but I have to pay 190.00 for bank transfer fee and taxes.  To call Kevin Harris at the First Federal Reserve Bank at 202-241-4219, verify with him on why they need 190.00, I called him, and he couldn't answer me that question without a authorization number.  So I said forget it, so now Rachel won't leave me alone, and will take my money if I don't talk to them.  I called my bank, they are restricting my accounts til I figure this out, what the hell, how can people be so cruel taking people's money like that.  So if anyone else has spoken to Rachel or Kevin Harris, ignore it!!!

I got a call from Rachel Hawkins this morning said the same thing that I am being awarded 10,000 from the government. I figured it was a scam so I told them that I did not have a checking account or a credit card. So they wasn't too interested in talking to me. Now they want me to borrow money from someone to pay for the process and handling fee. Yes, its 190.00. They should be a way to stop people from doing this.
