These folks came through as "blocked call" on my landline, but when it transferred to my cell phone the number appeared. Having already seen this report I took the call just for laughs. I spoke to a woman with a heavy Indian accent who asked for my wife by her maiden name, then knew my name, then transferred me to a supervisor who claimed he was from the IRS and gave a badge number, etc., but was obviously also Indian and in a loud call center just like the phone rep was. He used language like "a complaint has been lodged against your name and your identity" said the state police should already have contacted me. Lying, I told him they had and he asked what the conversation was and I told him that I told them to f*ck off. He hung up pretty rapidly after that.
