Have gotten several calls, telling me a sheriff or process server will be coming out to serve papers UNLESS of course, I call 1-844-236-4226 and give them a "file" number, and of course some personal information.

BE CAREFUL of this scam!   It's the new "identity theft".   You will be forced to give personal information and then harassed.

Do what others do, when they call to tell you the sheriff or server is coming out, ask them to pick up a box of donuts on the way.  Or, you may ask the caller for any other "service" you'd like...

Sure, they may be a real debt collector (I couldn't find anything on them however), but the tactic of telling people they are sending the sheriff over etc is illegal. And it has been going on for years. Additionally, no one who calls and asks for your social AND birthday is legit, at all, EVER. And btw, YOU'RE wrong; debt collectors don't refer to another firm. They want money sent to them.

First of all they have only been open a month. And the people who call you are a third party. !!!!!SECONDLY THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR SSN THEY THEN ASK YOU FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY SO THEY WONT GIVE IT OUT TO A RANDOM PERSON!!!!! And they are telling you in adavanced that a police officer is going to serve you its just a heads up think people

They ask for the birthdate to attach to the SS number so that they can use it to pretend to be you. Many scammers have at least partial information on their marks, the calls are to confirm more details before they use the information.

Quit shilling; we all know that this is a long, ongoing scam.

NO legal company that calls you first will ask for ANY information. At best, they will ask you to call them back at their main business office (and if you're smart, you'll look up the number at the actual site for the business or on your credit card/bill invoice copy/etc instead of using whatever number the cold caller will give you). The ONLY time a legitimate business will ask for your information to 'confirm' your identity is if YOU contact THEM first, for this very reason; to prevent people from giving out their personal information to scammers.

Lucas, you pull this line a lot on various reports on this site; I bet we could get a very clear idea of what numbers your scamming company uses if we pooled the information. ;)
