Jack Austin claims the IRS 1040 division is auditing me and I must speak to Sean Marshal at ext.179. Called back and get a Mr. Clark's voicemail.

John Anderson claims to be from the audit division of  IRS. He said It was to do with my husbands 1040 and there was also someone had placed a law suit against him. Needed my husband to call him back as soon as possible and do not ignore the call.

just called back the number 202-239-8740, a  man with a Middle Eastern accent answered and claimed to be with the IRS fraud department.  That didn't seem right right off the bat because I file a really simple form, and don't claim any expenses for business, etc, so I couldn't imagine what I was being audited for.  I answered a few questions, nothing that he could use to commit fraud, just the phone number I was calling from, etc. Anyway, we got disconnected and I thought Id better Google the phone number and I came upon this site.

So I called him back and laid into him, lol....it felt good.  I cussed him out, he cussed back, and I told him to get a REAL job.  Pieces of **** make me sick.  : )

"Jack Austin" with heavy Indian accent left message for me to return call to 1040 Audit Division. Based on the information found here, I will ignore it. Thanks!

Like the other posters, I received a distinctly odd phone call. Thanks to Googling the number and this forum, I'm able to trust my instinct and avoid it.
