Total scam. I called back the number they gave me. It said they can't receive calls. Within five seconds I got a call back. The person said he was Offover. Zack Cooper from the IRS. I asked if he was out of Washington. He say he out of the main office in Washington. He said there was a lawsuit filed against me and asked if I had a criminal attorney to represent me. I said in New York or Washington? He said New York. When I told him I did have an attorney he hung up on me. I called back and got the same message but this time no one called me back. They must've taken me off their list.

I got call from this number 202-239-2883 scam,same story

Same as Steve above.  Told them I would be reporting them as fraudulent

I got the same voice message.  I called back and the guy said he was criminal investigator Jack Cooper.He said there was a lawsuit filed against me and asked if I had a criminal attorney to represent me because I was fraudulent on my taxes from 2008-2012.  When I asked him for specifics about this accusation he said to get a lawyer and hung up on me.  I am sure that is NOT how the IRS is handling cases.

Just got the same call and returned it to him. Thanks so much Steve!  I did the same thing and asked for his ID # and he said "[***] you"
