I have received several calls from someone claiming to be an agent within the IRS. They call at least once a day, each time from a different number. Before, I wouldn't answer because I very rarely answer numbers I don't know. But, this time, I decided to answer and see what this was all about. I had looked up the other numbers that have tried calling me before, and each time it was numbers claiming to be someone from the IRS.
First off, the "agent" I had spoken to barely spoke any english. Secondly, he kept calling me "Miss Shannon". I'm sure if he was really from the IRS, he'd at least know my last name. Thirdly, since when does the IRS contact someone about a "lawsuit"? Last time I checked, that was a lawyer's doing. When I confronted him, and asked him for information on this supposed lawsuit, he retorted with that I didn't know anything about it? When I replied no, he wanted to know what he could do. I simply said tell me what the lawsuit was about. He became very defensive...in which I replied with if he contacts me again, I will be reporting every phone number I can to the better business bureau. Before I could even finish my sentence, he hung up.
I guess these guys think that people are dumb when it comes to scam callers. This guy got a huge [***] YOU from me!
