ID themselves as "Criminal Investigation Division"--basically a debt collection scam where they call you up and threaten you with criminal prosecution to collect a civil debt. Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. This is a clear violation of the federal rules regarding debt collection.
Other sites have reported
1. Threats of arrest warrants (bogus)
2. Callers impersonating court officer and talking about criminal charges and threats to issue warrants for fraud.
3. Callers impersonating court officials from the federal claims court in Wash, DC and making threats about personal loans.
These are all violations of the FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT

If they continue to bother you, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. If you can find them.
