This number is calling me xnd threating me

I just got a call from 202-239-0143 saying they were the IRS and that i owed back taxes from 2008 to 2012 and if i didnt pay $3786 i will go to jail.  They gave me a warrant id number and to go ahead and turn myself in for incarceration.  Both speakers - Ryan George and John Ryan had an oriental accent, barely spoke any english and when i requested a copy of the correspondence they claimed had sent me, the guy said he couldnt send it to me and that i had to turn myself in to the local sheriff.  Folks be aware of the scammers outhere....

This is a Pakistan or India based IRS scam. Do not fall for this.

The IRS does not initiate any legal action via phone. The scammers use voice over IP lines (e.g. magicjack (Ymax corporation). This is always against these companys' terms of use and can lead to termination of their contract. However only law enforcement can initiate the contact if you yourself are not a customer. Therefore, report it also to your local law enforcement agency. Ultimately this is a case for the FBI legal attache in Islamabad or New Delhi. If you are really annoyed: call or write to your representative in Congress. As these scams happen all over the country maybe this will trigger a reaction (and the NSA can finally be a force for good).

This person claims he works for the irs and threatened that I would go to jail if I didn't pay $2400, 00

Just received this same call (i.e. a call from the IRS indicating that I owe back-taxes and will be sent to jail if I don't pay).  Voices of the callers were Pakistani or Indian.
