Received a call form a heavily accented Mark Black with the same message as from IRS with passport on hold, etc. I will try to do something about it. It is a scam.

This time it was Alex Smith, an Indian-accented person who left a message on my machine that he was from the IRS of the United States government in Washington DC (Oh, THAT United States government!) , passport was on hold, call back the number, etc. I did have a laugh about how bogus it sounded.

Got the call with same phone number, claimed his name is Brian Allen with General Office in DC, he said my passport need amend, left the same phone number in my answering machine.

got the same call from this number. with accent...marshell....warrent.....IRS...same s..t just like you guys described.
