I just got a call from 202-001-5000, and stupid me I gave them my bank account number. I have no money in it right now, but I will be getting direct deposit on Friday!  After that dude gave me a confirmation #, he gave me the 202-558-4595 # and to ask for Sofia Lopez. She then asked me to donate $255.05 application fee for charity. I told her I did not have the money she then told me to call back when I do and she would place that grant money on hold. They made it sound real when they said not to use it on alcohol, drugs, or gambaling. So now they have my account #, I didn't send them any money, but what should I do?

If you google the 202-558-4595 # you can get the link of the first 202 #. They are trying to scam us, who gets free money nowadays, why would anypone want an application fee when they are giving you four times that amount?

I've been receiving calls from these people for two days. I was first told I was eligible for $1400, the second time they called I had already read everything on this blog. I instantly questioned how they got my number, all he would say is the government. I told him the only way I'm going to accept any money is via check and I would not give out any banking information. He said that was fine and asked why I even said that, I told him I know that this is a scam and he told me because I said this is a scam that I no longer qualify for the grant...LOL... If your dumb enough to just give your account info to a stranger on the phone you deserve to lose all your money... I would be interested to see what would happen if someone has a bank account that will never have funds in it, to see if they would try to draw money out of it, there would have to be a way to track where its going or maybe you'd actually get some money... I doubt it tho.

Your at risk. Never give out vital information including checking info over the phone especially to a stranger. I would change my bank account info immediately.
