What a drag! Sorry to hear what you're going through. I just got a call with your number showing in CallerID, which I didn't answer. The bad guys have likely made your phone number unusable for you and I would think you'll need to get a new #.

There's got to be a way to come up with "certified" caller ID #s that can't be spoofed. Until then, I'm using blacklists via Ooma to filter my calls, but many still slip through to ring my phone like this one did. I may switch to whitelisting via Google Voice, so only the numbers I approve will make it through to ring.

Ben- I'm the owner of 201-452-4404. Please read my message below regarding the scam and how it has exploited my phone number to carry through with a terrible phone spoofing scam. Anyone reading this- please do not call back, text back, facetime or respond to the call in any way. My phone number has been used by foreign thieves to try to get you to answer your call and give them sensitive information. When you call back, you're calling me, and I'm receiving hundreds of calls every hour rendering my phone useless. I'm getting cursed at and threatened, but I understand your frustration. Do not answer ANY calls from these thieves. Soon, they'll move on from my number, but will call you with another number. The FCC unfortunately cannot do anything so we just need to keep ignoring these people.
