So I have an account on care.com for dog walking service and got a text message from this number asking met to email her sister who is looking for a dog walker. I emailed and got a response that was very detailed and basically saying they wanted to hire me to walk there two dogs when they moved to this area. They would send a cashier check ahead of time as the dogs might get there before they do and so on.... Well I'm thankfully aware of scams like this and hope this helps someone make the decision that it's to good to be true and they are scamming you for money. Even if your bank accepts the check about 7 days later it will deny it and your bank account can be negative by thousands of dollars. They will try everything to get you to send them money as fast as possible because of this. Be aware! You work hard for your money, don't let people do this to you!!!

Possibly spoofed number.  Call one of the many fake "I am from Microsoft and need remote access to your computer" scams where organized crime then puts malware on your computer.

I have gotten these calls off and on for a few years now.  How they find our numbers, I don't know.  But, I would suggest doing what I do -  have a whistle on hand and blow it into the phone!  It will disrupt their hearing for a while, possibly give them a headache, and eventually they will leave you alone!  I have also written down various numbers from caller ID when they call and then go to the FBI's website and list the phone numbers.  But the whistle works best - or you run out and blow your horn into the phone!  Idiots!  Scammers! Heathens!

I've gotten 3 or 4 of these calls from this number in the last few weeks.  Male and female callers, both with heavy accents (Indian?).  When I told the woman caller that I recognized the scam and she was wasting her time, she responded very sarcastically asking how much I knew about computers.  Today's caller was male.  I played him along until it came time to follow his directions on my computer.  I told him I would not do so because I have heavy-duty anti-virus software and firewalls, see nothing in my computer's operations to indicate that there is any problem, and I believed this was a scam....get this:  HE AGREED THAT IT WAS A SCAM, WISHED ME WELL AND HUNG UP!!!

There was a lot of background noise, so I'm thinking this is was used to be called a "boiler-room" calling centre, and callers get paid based upon the number of callers they keep on the line more than a set number of seconds.  He had succeeded in that, so didn't mind not wasting any more time on me.  Lesson for the future:  calls are coming from a very poor country, and the callers are doing the only work they can get.  Don't co-operate with them, but if they rack up the required time, they get paid, and their employer doesn't.

Got a very strange call from this number. Alleged they were from Microsoft. Since the accent appeared to be from India it did not seem impossible since they seem to have sent jobs abroad.  Wanted access to my computer to get rid of malware etc..  I hung up and tried to call the number as shown on caller ID. Call could not be completed
