they called on a local number, but gave me 201-308-5379 to call back on if i change my mind about buying their magazines. Wouldn't really say what company they were, just Sweepstakes some-thing-or-other,but is listed as Level 3 Communications VoIP in Troy, MI when i looked them up.It's their big 22nd Aniversary Promotion. I hadn't resently bought any products from companies that they listed, nor have i entered any boggus sweepstakes. They called only minutes ago, looked up both numbers, and they tried calling again from a different local number, but then it only beeped when i answered, i was going to tell them to stop calling me. The magazine part could be legit, but you should NEVER give you credit card/bank card numbers over the phone to any random caller. If you are going to pay bills or order something, then only do it if you initiated the call. I hope the previous commenters that did do this don't get screwed. They should contact their bank and put a stop payment on it and alert their banks fraud department.
