They called my cell number, which I never give out.  I'm on a plan with only 50 minutes per month because I rarely use it.  I know, I'm a freak.  Anyway, he also said his name was "John".  I asked how he got my number and he said they just dialed random numbers.  I told him it was a cell and he was costing me money.  I said to take my name off his list.  He started to say something about a movie, but I was very abrupt and didn't let him finish.

Phoned my unlisted company cell phone @ 5:13pm on 2/18/2009.

Caller stated that his name was "John" and he needed 40 seconds of my time to talk about production of a movie coming to theaters. He "assured" me this was not a sales call.

After I stated "Ok" he thanked me for my time and hung up... What the heck?

...same thing as "wtf?" mentioned.  Called saying they only need 40 seconds of my time.  Talking about the Velvetine Rabbit movie.  Told him this was a private cell #, and he said that they are just dialing random number combinations in the area.  I said fine, but this is a private number, and he said thanks and hung up.  It was really weird....sounded like it was all recorded, and that there was a canned response for any question I asked.

I called them back from another number that is not mine.  He answered and said he had called on behalf of producers.  I told him to stop calling but he would not stop trying to continue so I hung up.
