This number called me 3 times within 6 minutes today, a different last number each time (201-111-1114, 1118, 1120), and VM picked up cause I wasn't home. The message was: "Your phone call is not accepted. Please hang up." The funny thing is that I DO live in Fort Wayne, and it does sound like the call you get from the Allen Co. Jail, but I have call-block on the jail, so if it was really from the jail, it wouldn't have even made it to my voice mail. Btw: Allen Co. Jail says "Allen Co. Jail" on your caller ID when they're really calling from there
I think it's a scammer, for sure. There are lots of jailhouse scams; calling a random number and saying it's "Mike" or "John", for example. (You know a Mike or John, don't you?) Then they say they must have called the wrong #, "but they only get one...could you help them get in touch with their little daughter (sick mother, dying father, etc)", then they get money from you...somehow. (I never listened past this point when I worked with jailbirds at a rehab center, but I understand it's very common.)
Never, NEVER accept a phone call from any jail unless they identify themselves (first AND LAST name) AND YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW THEM. Better yet, just call-block the jail.
